License plates light ?

I have a 95 Mitsubishi eclipse , the problem is the license plate lights are just hanging there , it looked like a piece of metal was holding them in place. But the piece of metal is rusted up and broken. I wanna install a new piece of metal to keep the lights in place , but the only problem I dont know how to get to it , anybody know ?
