What can i use to paint over the rock chips on the sides of my car?

i have a 2000 mitsubishi eclipse gt and rock chips all over the front of my doors behind my front tires. this is due to living on gravel and i was to stupid to buy mud flaps so is there anything i can do to cover them up. i dont want to spend much money and i have seen people put spray on bed liner on the bottoms of their doors. is this a good idea if not what are some other ways can i do this
